The Castle of Talmont, fortress of the 11th century
Built in 1020, the Château de Talmont-Saint-Hilaire once belonged to Richard the Lionheart. Dominating the city, it offers an exceptional panorama on Talmont and its surroundings. On a self-guided or organized tour, you will plunge into the Middle Ages and into the heart of the Castle’s history: from its construction to its burning down to its purchase by the municipality in 1920. You will also learn that it was classified as a Historic Monument in 2009, since which time it has been regularly enhanced by various actions.

Created in the 80’s, the small marina of Talmont welcomed at first about sixty boats. Today, there are no less than 650 moorings that can accommodate as many boaters. A real source of tourist attraction, you will find many restaurants, shops and water sports activities to enjoy with your family or friends during your vacation at La Baie de Cayola.
